Now operating as Rain Forest Sawmill, a softwood sawmill located in Black Creek in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, we have 22 years and about 2.5 million board feet of experience.
We source our logs almost entirely from salvage logging and small-scale forestry operations.
Our most common products are heavy timbers, siding, decking, interior and exterior trim and fencing, but we also produce door and window stock, furniture stock, mantles, garden bed frames and framing lumber. More information is found on our Products and Services page. You will also find images of our products on our Photo Gallery page. If you are not certain of your exact needs, feel free to check out our Inventory to see what we have available for spot sales.
Our production capacity is 2500 board feet per day. Our maximum length is 32 feet 0 inches, our widest possible cut is 28 inches and our maximum thickness is also 28 inches.
We offer kiln drying on site. Our current capacity is 1500 board feet per load and 14 foot lengths. A typical drying time is seven days for 1-inch thickness and ten days for 2-inch.

We can arrange profiling (such as tongue and groove, etc.) for you at one of a few local operations.
Our primary piece of production equipment is a Woodmizer LT70 horizontal bandsaw mill. You will see it in full production on our Videos page.

No order is too small for us. The bigger orders we typically work with are about 20,000 board feet. Please see our Tips page for some hints on how to order from us.
We welcome your visit. Please take a look at our How to Find Us page for directions. Before you take the time to drive out to us, though, please make sure we are expecting you. That way we can have one of our Staff on hand to help you, without the need to stop production.
If you are outside the area and would like us to ship your purchase to you, we can arrange this for you. Just let us know the address where you would like us to ship it (or the port if your address is not on Vancouver Island, BC) and we will find out the best and most economical way to get it to you.
Please contact us about supporting your local charity or events. A list of past charities and events we have sponsored can be found on our Links page.
